BLOGMAS: Must Have Book Accessory #4

BLOGMAS: Must Have Book Accessory #4

Obsessed with my neighbor’s holiday display! There are spotlights on it at night and it is so beautiful!

I love writing these posts! Obviously all you REALLY need to enjoy a good book is…a good book ;). BUT there are definitely some things that will add to your reading experience in the very best possible ways. You can find links to my other “must have book accessories” here:

Must Have Book Accessory #4

One word: CANDLES.

I have written about candles on this blog SO many times. I absolutely LOVE candles and I have one buring pretty much any time I am home and ESPECIALLY when I’m reading.

I love seeing the flames flicker out of the corner of my eye while reading. I love inhaling the smell while reading. Just makes the whole reading experience even better!

There is nothing better than a delicious smelling candle and throughout the year, I have SO MANY that I rotate through. I pretty much have at least 1 candle in every room of my house! I have an entire drawer dedicated solely to candles that I rotate in and out throughout the year.

My birthday gift from my daughter this year:

Candle making kit!

My birthday gift from my son this year:

❤️

They know their Mommy well 🙂

I had posted this on Instagram a few years ago:

#

As much as I LOVE candles, there will always and forever be one scent that will completely own my heart. Bath and Body Works Winter Candy Apple, I will love you for the rest of my life.

I burn various throughout the year but from November through January, this is strictly the ONLY scent that I will burn. Just the scent of it brings me such holiday joy! When I lit it for the first time this season, my husband came downstairs and said “It smells like Hanukkah” and I replied, “IT’S WORKING!”

I spy Winter Candle Apple currently all over my house:

Next to me as I’m writing this blog post at my desk:

Our Dining Room table:

My Bedroom:

Winter Candy Apple has made MANY appearances on my Instagram page over the years:

And I may or may not have 2 more unburned Winter Candy Apples waiting in my candle drawer. THE. ABSOLUTE. BEST.

Basically, I’m never far away from books, coffee, and CANDLES! Especially during this time of year. Try lighting a candle next to you the next time you read! It will add such a peaceful element to your reading experience. I promise you’ll thank me!

Speaking of candles, HAPPY HANUKKAH to those who celebrate! Here are our beautiful menorahs, made by my beautiful children:

What’s your favorite candle scent?

BLOGMAS: My Birthday Visit to Barnes and Noble!

BLOGMAS: My Birthday Visit to Barnes and Noble!

I had a few hours smack in the middle of the day on my birthday all to myself. I debated what to do with my time. Manicure? Maybe. Pedicure? Perhaps. Bookstore? Ummmm YES PLEASE. What a glorious way to spend my special afternoon! Barnes and Noble, here I come!

I drove straight to Barnes and Noble and found…drumroll please…IT. WAS. GONE. Ummm whaaaaat? Has it been THAT long since I last visited??? It’s not a secret that I would rather check out a library book than buy a book aaaaaaany day but still…how did this massive store just GO AWAY and I had no idea???

I found myself doing a Google search for “bookstores near me” (NERD ALERT) and found the closest Barnes and Noble was only 15 minutes away. Phew. I drove straight there, singing Christmas songs aloud in my car the entire time. Glorious.

Oh hello lover.
Gorgeous holiday display as soon as I walked in. I LOVE THIS TIME OF YEAR SO MUCH!

So the entire reason (ok obvi not the ENTIRE reason) that I went to Barnes and Noble was to buy myself a birthday present. Do any of you do that? I do it every single year, lol.

This was last year’s birthday present to myself:

Love!

So this year I decided that I wanted to buy myself a book and not just any book…but this beautiful Christmas Book:

Considering I had to credit the above photo to Amazon should be a spoiler on what I did NOT buy myself for my birthday, lol. Ugh I cannot find this book! Amazon is sold out, Barnes and Noble is sold out, and my name on the library waitlist seems to be quite far from the top. Grrrr.

They had plenty of Jenny Colgan’s other books in stock! Have you read any? I have not but they all look wonderful!

I DID come across these 2 books which I considered buying but ultimately did not. They both look so good!

Random bookish finds as I wandered aimlessly and happily around the store:

Fur lined tote…how CUTE!
I almost bought this until I decided that it resembled a Christmas tree just a bit too much for this Jew, lol 🙂 However, just looking at this picture makes me think that I made a mistake. It’s so cute! I may need to go back!
Kate Spade. Gorgeous.
Birthday Girl by the pretty wall in the bathroom, lol 😉

Thank you, Barnes and Noble, for an absolutely lovely afternoon. Although I didn’t buy a thing, I so appreciated just being there surrounded by my favorite objects: BOOKS!

What did I end up buying myself for my birthday? Random holiday jammies from Old Navy! I was excited about them until I took them home to try on. They are cut SO WEIRD!!! I l just loved that holiday sweater mug so much that I never even took the time to unfold them in the store. Oops. Lesson learned! Old Navy is so hit or miss and these are most definitely a MISS (although I still do love that holiday sweater mug). Back to the store they will go. I clearly still owe myself a birthday present! Maybe that adorable mug from Barnes and Noble…

Ugh.

If you can’t tell from the above photos, I am 100 percent obsessed with this time of year! Holiday scented candles, Christmas station on Pandora, holiday books, sweaters, scarves. NOW IT JUST NEEDS TO SNOOOOOOOW! MY FAVORITE!!!!

A Sad Day.

I saw this beautiful sign a few weeks ago while my family was on vacation in Door County, WI. I love it so, so much.

Good Morning!

I hope you had a nice weekend! I am currently listening to the wind howling, leaves rustling, and rain falling from the window next to me as I’m typing.

A Sad Day

If you have been reading my blog for any length of time, you are WELL aware of my most favorite reading accessory of all time:

My book light.

If you aren’t aware of my obsession with my beloved book light, HERE is the post that explains all about why I love her so much.

Her and I have been together for 7 wonderful years. I’ve used her almost every single day over those 7 years, often times twice each day…morning and night.

She has traveled with me all over the United States. Her and I went to Mexico twice together!

She was with me early in the mornings when nobody else in my house was awake. She was with me late at night when nobody else in my house was awake. Her and I have spent many, MANY hours in the middle of the night breastfeeding my son.

This booklight and I have been through it all. I have read HUNDREDS of books with her and her light has illunimted probably millions of words for me.

If you follow me on Facebook, you have seen her in so many of my signature weekend posts asking all of you what you are currently reading.

If you follow me on Instagram, you have seen her in so many stories saying good night or good morning.

The back of her has been missing for years, the tape holding her together has been replaced over and over. She has gone though SO MANY batteries. Even though she hasn’t been looking her best for a very long time, she has always been beautiful to me.

I always tell my children that the more something shows wear and tear, the more loved it is. With that logic, this little pink booklight has been LOVED.

A Slow Death

I had been noticing for quite some time that she just wasn’t shining as brightly as she once was. I kept changing her batteries but even that wasn’t doing the trick. I tried and tried but there just wasn’t anything I could do to bring back her old brightness.

I knew it was time.

God Speed, Old Buddy.

I so wish I could have bought the exact same booklight. Her cousin maybe? But I already knew that for some crazy reason, she has been discontinued.

Amazon. Searched. Highest Rating. Prime. Clicked Order.

2 days later…a package on my front porch.

I’ll be honest, I didn’t open it for 2 days. I was hoping for a miracle! But alas…it was time.

A New Beginning

I hate that she’s blue. I wish she were pink. There were no color options or clearly I would have chosen pink.

She’s too bright. Like…VERY BRIGHT. 2 weeks ago in the hotel room in Door County she legit lit up the entire room as the rest of my family was sleeping. Sorry family. My husband HATES her.

SO. BRIGHT.

She doesn’t bend. My beloved old booklight used to bend at every angle. This new one is too stiff. She only goes up and down.

Omg as I’m editing this post I now see the random page that I chose for this blog photo. This particular passage is clearly a bit….racy for post about book lights?? I already returned the book to the library so it is what it is. Happy Monday, lol.

HOWEVER…

Dare I say that I like the actual shade of her light…better? My old beloved book light was an LED bulb which I hate. This new friend has a beautiful, soft, warm, glow about her.

My dear old beloved book light isn’t completely dead yet. She’s holding on as long as she can. I gave her to my 9.5 year old daughter who has much better eyesight than I do and therefore the dim light isn’t a problem for her. It brings me joy to watch her last days spent lighting up Babysitters Club books (my FAVORITE book series from when I was a child).

As for me and my new friend, the jury is still out. I’m trying…but I miss my old companion. I’ll keep you posted.

“Don’t cry because it’s over, smile because it happened” -Dr. Seuss

Take a little time to appreciate your beloved book lights today!

Jenny

A Lovely Independent Bookstore

A Lovely Independent Bookstore

As you know, I’m a HUGE advocate of utilizing my local library. I absolutely LOVE the library and that is exactly where 90 percent of the books that I read come from. I love borrowing books so, so much.

I use my library for a number of reasons, mostly that I am a minimalist. I don’t WANT a stuffed, crammed bookshelf full of books that I most likely won’t reread in the future.

However, I DO love to support small businesses and I absolutely adore discovering wonderful independent bookstores. There is quite literally nothing better than a tiny, adorable bookstore and a friendly person behind the counter ready to discuss books. THE BEST.

Every time I go on a vacation, I seem to find the CUTEST bookshops and I absolutely love supporting them.

A Lovely Independent Bookstore

Last week, my family and I spent 4 days in Door County, WI. While walking through the town of Sturgeon Bay, I stumbled upon the most adorable independent bookstore!

Novel Bay Booksellers, I adore you.

This was the first thing to greet me on the sidewalk before I even walked into the store. Perfect.
Stunning.
Children’s Section

I walked around for a few minutes breathing in the scent of new books and I was so happy. As soon as I saw this book on a shelf, I knew it was the one I was going to purchase! My friend and fellow book blogger Jenna had just posted the day prior about how much she LOVED this book so I took it as a sign.

I also saw the most beautiful coffee mug just sitting on a shelf and instantly knew I had to have it.

While speaking with the LOVELY lady behind the counter, I asked if I could take a copy of the Midwest Indie Bookstore Roadmap. Not only did she say yes but she told me to also take one for a friend 🙂 Megan, I’ve got yours here for you! XO!

I happily paid for my book and mug. Then the lovely lady (I so wish I could remember her name, ugh) gave me a book mark and a beautiful sticker which I came home and immediately affixed to my beloved planner.

Thank you for a wonderful visit, Novel Bay Booksellers!

If you are ever in the Door County area of Wisconsin, I highly suggest paying a visit to this charming little slice of Heaven. I can’t wait to return!

Other independent bookshops I’ve discovered while on vacations and links to my blog posts about them:

Booked for the Season (Grand Haven MI)

Moon Pie General Store and Original Book Warehouse in Pigeon Forge, TN (AKA the most amazing bookstore I’ve ever visited)

River Lights Bookstore (Dubuque, IA), Peace of the Past (Galena, IL), and Half Price Books Outlet in Rockford, IL (not necessarily an independent bookshop but since I bought my all time favorite book here on the way home from a vacation to Galena, IL, I’m including it here)

Tell me about an independent bookstore that you love to support!

Jenny

Happy 3rd Birthday, Book Coffee Happy!

Ahhhh my favorite hobby turned 3 years old last week! Happy Birthday, Book Coffee Happy!

3 years of books, blogging, making new book friends, book discussions, authors so graciously sending me their books, and so much more. Aaaaaand…3 years of me teaching myself how to build, maintain, and GROW a website! I’m definitely proud of myself 🙂

3 years of YOU! My dearest blog readers! Some of you I know in real life, most of you I do not. Thank you from the very bottom of my heart for reading my blog. I have faithfully been reading other people’s blogs since 2007 (!) and I absolutely love that I now have one of my very own. Thank you for signing up with your email address to follow my blog, for commenting on blog posts, for following/commenting on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter (still not completely sure how to use Twitter), YouTube (I rarely post on YouTube but it’s such fun when I do), for buying things through my Amazon Affiliate links, and for your overall support. NOTHING makes me happier or more proud as a blogger than when someone tells me that they read a book based on one of my suggestions and it has become a new favorite for them. Mission accomplished 🙂

I take this space very seriously and I always try my best to write posts that I personally would love to read. Book reviews, book suggestions, book giveaways, book discussions, aaaaaaand some bits here and there of my personal life. I simply CANNOT write this blog without bits of my personal life creeping in here and there but I do focus mostly on books in this space. Perhaps the hardest part of blogging has been to not talk in any details about my children! I have never once said their names or shown their faces in this space and that has been HARD. Being a mom is the greatest gift and not talking about them hurts my heart. Maybe one day they will make a blog appearance…

This past year of blogging has been filled with all kinds of adventures!

A few highlights:

The return of IN PERSON browsing throughout my beloved library

I visited the most amazing bookstore I’ve ever seen

A blog post of mine went VIRAL (SO. FREAKING. COOL.)

I became a “Library Hero”

I read the very best book I’ve ever read

I got a new job

…and so much more! THE BEST quarantined family vacations and more all in the face of a global pandemic.

How I usually look while I’m reading. Robe, coffee, and glasses!

This blog has always been so important to me but I was especially thankful for it during the past year. When the outside world was a scary place, I was still able to enjoy reading and blogging from the safety of my home. Reading was the PERFECT activity to have during the past year! I hope my little blog was able to provide you with some suggestions of things to read for your mind to escape when your body truly wasn’t able to leave. I love the following quote so, so much: “Reading gives us someplace to go when we have to stay where we are.” How PERFECT is that quote to describe the past year????

Happiest of Birthdays to you, Book Coffee Happy. Thank you for being my most creative outlet and my most favorite hobby. I can’t wait to see where the future will take us!

You can read all about Book Coffee Happy’s 1st birthday HERE and Book Coffee Happy’s 2nd birthday HERE!

Weekend Book Blogging Thoughts

Hiiiiii!

New Fancy Computer:

I got a new computer this weekend (obsessed) and of course I wanted to try it out ASAP. What better way than a random weekend blog post? This post will be a bit all over the place but I really just want to try out all of this new computer’s features. I’m in LOVE!

Obsessed.

Street Fest:

Yesterday we went to a street fest by our house. It was a perfect outdoor activity!

My daughter had so much fun doing the pony rides. My son…cried because it smelled like horse doodie and refused to get on. The lady gave me back my money but she wasn’t thrilled about it. #fail

Iced vanilla latte at the fest! Delish!
Saw this at the fest yesterday. It’s so true!

Book I Finished, Book I Started:

As for books, I finished reading this book last night and I have allllll kinds of thoughts. Review coming soon!

Synopsis from Goodreads of Other People’s Children {R.J. Hoffman}:

Gail and Jon Durbin moved to the Chicago suburbs to set up house as soon as Gail got pregnant. But then she miscarried—once, twice, three times. Determined to expand their family, the Durbins turn to adoption. When several adoptions fall through, Gail’s desire for a child overwhelms her.

Carli is a pregnant teenager from a blue-collar town nearby, with dreams of going to college and getting out of her mother’s home. When she makes the gut-wrenching decision to give her baby up for adoption, she chooses the Durbins. But Carli’s mother, Marla, has other plans for her grandbaby.

In Other People’s Children, three mothers make excruciating choices to protect their families and their dreams—choices that put them at decided odds against one another. You will root for each one of them and wonder just how far you’d go in the same situation. This riveting debut is a thoughtful exploration of love and family, and a heart-pounding page-turner you’ll find impossible to put down.

I started reading this one this morning. I’ll let you know my thoughts ASAP! I’m currently on chapter 3…

Synopsis from Goodreads of The Photographer {Mary Dixie Carter}:

WHEN PERFECT IMAGES

As a photographer, Delta Dawn observes the seemingly perfect lives of New York City’s elite: snapping photos of their children’s birthday parties, transforming images of stiff hugs and tearstained faces into visions of pure joy, and creating moments these parents long for.

ARE MADE OF BEAUTIFUL LIES

But when Delta is hired for Natalie Straub’s eleventh birthday, she finds herself wishing she wasn’t behind the lens but a part of the scene―in the Straub family’s gorgeous home and elegant life.

THE TRUTH WILL BE EXPOSED

That’s when Delta puts her plan in place, by babysitting for Natalie; befriending her mother, Amelia; finding chances to listen to her father, Fritz. Soon she’s bathing in the master bathtub, drinking their expensive wine, and eyeing the beautifully finished garden apartment in their townhouse. It seems she can never get close enough, until she discovers that photos aren’t all she can manipulate.

EXCITING BOOK NEWS:

I absolutely loved Lisa Barr’s The Unbreakables. If you haven’t read it yet, I HIGHLY recommend that you do so! You can read my (glowing) review HERE.

Throughout the years, I have come to know Lisa on a personal level and I can attest that her beautiful personality is just as wonderful as her writing. The cover revel for Lisa’s newest book, Woman on Fire, has been released and it’s STUNNING! Check this out:

Absolutely LOVE!

And a blurb from one of my all time favorites, Mary Kubica??? YES PLEASE!

Incredibly fast-paced and savvy, Lisa Barr takes readers into the high stakes world of art theft through the eyes of a young, gutsy journalist. Thick with history, scandal, romance and deceit, WOMAN ON FIRE is a truly compulsive read.”  – Mary Kubica, New York Times bestselling author of LOCAL WOMAN MISSING

HERE is a link where you can read the Woman on Fire synopsis AND preorder your own copy ahead of it’s March 2022 release date. I can’t WAIT to get my hands on a copy and I can’t WAIT to meet you for coffee ASAP, Lisa! Xo!

I hope you are having a lovely weekend filled with love and BOOKS! I’m off to play with my new computer…

I Bought 2 Books!

I bought 2 books!

Last Saturday, my family was at a massive barbecue competition. There were tons of competitors, each with their huge equipment. My husband is actually a certified barbecue judge and when he’s not judging, he’s competing! It’s his most favorite hobby and our patio is always overflowing with smokers, grills, etc. We have entire pieces of furniture and sheds devoted solely to his grilling supplies.

But we weren’t there on Saturday to support my husband. He wasn’t judging and he wasn’t competing. We were there to support my 9 year old DAUGHTER! There was a kids BBQ competition happening right next to the adult BBQ competition and my daughter entered. It was awesome! She NAILED IT! She worked SO HARD with absolutely zero help from us (and by us I obviously mean my husband…I have no clue how to grill). My husband, my son, and I sat on a bench and watched as my daughter made DELICIOUS looking burgers from scratch, plated them, and turned them in. She used secret ingredients, fancy methods, and was so proud of herself.

Once her burgers were officially turned into the judges, we had to wait for 2 hours until the winners were announced. We hung around the competition for a bit while we waited and then my husband had a GENIUS idea.

As it turned out, the competition was just a few miles away from the GLORIOUS Half Price Books Outlet that we stumbled upon when returning from our beautiful Galena getaway (you can read about our vacation HERE and about the amazing Half Price Books Outlet that we found HERE). My husband asked if I would like for us to drive there while we awaited the competition results.

Ummmm do I even need to answer that?! GET. IN. THE. CAR.

We jumped in the car and headed straight to the MECCA. We did some quick math and realized that I would have approximately 20ish minutes to be in there before we needed to head back to hear the competition results. Would I have preferred 3 hours? Hell yes. Was I prepared to take advantage of the 20 minutes that I had? Also hell yes.

The last time I was here I purchased what turned out to be the very best book I have ever read so my expectations from now on when making purchases here will remain HIGH, lol.

We pulled up, I threw on my mask, and I quite literally JUMPED out of the car.

I took this photo WHILE I WAS SPEED WALKING IN. I’m shocked it’s not blurry! No time to stop for a photo, lol! Aaaaand as I uploaded it to the blog, I noticed my reflection in the window! I’m cracking up…actual PROOF that I didn’t even stop walking as I was snapping this photo, lol!

There was no time for selfies but I did manage to snap a few pictures while inside!

#happyplace

I have now been to this amazing place 2 times and each time I was super limited on time with my family waiting in the car, ugh. I MUST get back there alone one day when I have lots of time to browse the shelves! It’s so incredibly AWESOME there.

20 minutes to run in, browse, AND pay? I got this. My husband and daughter might win barbecue competitions but if there was an award for shopping, Mama would be the CHAMPION.

I Bought 2 Books

While browsing (and by browsing I mean frantically scanning each shelf as my 20 minutes quickly ticked by) throughout the young adult section, this book caught my eye. Have any of you read it? After reading Starfish (oh Starfish is so amazing, synopsis and my review HERE), I’m curious as to how this one will compare with a similar topic.

Goodreads Synopsis of 45 Pounds:

Here are the numbers of Ann Galardi’s life:

She is 16.
And a size 17.
Her perfect mother is a size 6.
Her Aunt Jackie is getting married in 10 weeks, and wants Ann to be her bridesmaid.
So Ann makes up her mind: Time to lose 45 pounds (more or less) in 2 1/2 months.

Welcome to the world of infomercial diet plans, wedding dance lessons, embarrassing run-ins with the cutest guy Ann’s ever seen—-and some surprises about her NOT-so-perfect mother.

And there’s one more thing. It’s all about feeling comfortable in your own skin-—no matter how you add it up!

A quick glance at my Fitbit told me that I literally had 3 minutes. 3 minutes! Only 1 choice on what to do! I clearly BOLTED to the clearance section. The first book that caught my eye was a hardcover copy one of my favorite books of all time for A DOLLAR. A DOLLAR??? Someone is going to hit the JACKPOT finding this beautiful $1 gem on that shelf. (You can read why this book is so special to me HERE).

And then I noticed this book. For some reason I haven’t read it although it’s been on my list to read for YEARS. Why have I not read this book yet? Have any of you read it? I’m sure many of you have, lol. I definitely grabbed this one for $1.00! I have very high hopes for this book since I LOVED Liv Constintine’s The Wife Stalker (synopsis and my review HERE).

Goodreads Synopsis of The Last Mrs. Parrish:

Amber Patterson is fed up. She’s tired of being a nobody: a plain, invisible woman who blends into the background. She deserves more—a life of money and power like the one blond-haired, blue-eyed goddess Daphne Parrish takes for granted.

To everyone in the exclusive town of Bishops Harbor, Connecticut, Daphne—a socialite and philanthropist—and her real-estate mogul husband, Jackson, are a couple straight out of a fairy tale.

Amber’s envy could eat her alive . . . if she didn’t have a plan. Amber uses Daphne’s compassion and caring to insinuate herself into the family’s life—the first step in a meticulous scheme to undermine her. Before long, Amber is Daphne’s closest confidante, traveling to Europe with the Parrishes and their lovely young daughters, and growing closer to Jackson. But a skeleton from her past may undermine everything that Amber has worked towards, and if it is discovered, her well-laid plan may fall to pieces.

With shocking turns and dark secrets that will keep you guessing until the very end, The Last Mrs. Parrish is a fresh, juicy, and utterly addictive thriller from a diabolically imaginative talent.

Once I purchased my books, I literally RAN back to my waiting family in the car, jumped in, and we headed back to the competition to hear the results.

2ND PLACE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So, so proud of her!!!!!!!!!!!! SHE DID IT!!!!!!

Proudly hanging in her bedroom. Note the cloth on top so she can polish it each time it’s touched. She’s the cutest 🙂

I hope you are having a good day! I’ll be back on Friday with a review of an AMAZING book that I recently read and LOVED!

Have you read any of these books? What did you think? I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments below!

Chicago, Hammock Reading, Garage Sale, Little Free Libraries, Currently Reading, Library Love

Chicago, Hammock Reading, Garage Sale, Little Free Libraries, Currently Reading, Library Love

Hello!

I’ve been a bit MIA on my blog lately because life has been buuuuusy 🙂 I’m hoping to get back to regularly posting on here ASAP!

So what have I been up to? So much!

Chicago

My husband and I spent 24 hours together (without our children!) in downtown Chicago and it was AMAZING. We took a stunning boat ride, shopped on Michigan Avenue, ate a romantic dinner, stayed in a GORGEOUS hotel room, and so much more. I absolutely loved every second and him and I had the very best time together.

Jon and I ❤️

Most beautiful city ❤️

If you know me in real life, you know my obsession with my last name. I collect anything that says “SHARE” and seeing it hanging on a massive banner at Watertower Place made me so happy! Felt like a personal welcome, lol ❤️

And of course, I woke up early the following morning to get a bit of reading in before the day began. Always to best way to begin the day, especially while on vacation! I’ll have a full review of this book (The Readers of Broken Wheel Recommend By Katarina Bivald) posted soon 🙂

Lazy, Hammock Reading

Now that we are back home, I’ve been doing lots of reading on our hammock!

Garage Sale and Little Free Libraries

I had my annual garage sale this past weekend and I LOVED IT. Hands down one of my favorite traditions and I SO missed not doing it last year due to Covid.

Giving away books for free was such a fun experience. People were so THANKFUL and it truly made my heart so happy.

Once the sale was over, I was still left with TONS of books. What better way to share books than to put them in Little Free Libraries? I drove around and filled 3 different Little Free Libraries with both adult and childrens titles. It felt so great to do this! I hope all of those books eventually will find happy homes 🙂 If you have never donated to a Little Free Library, I highly encourage you to do so. Such a wonderful way to share books.

Currently Reading

I haven’t really been blogging but I most definitely HAVE been reading! I’m currently reading The Mothers {Genevieve Gannon} . I’ll have a full review posted as soon as I finish!

Goodreads Synopsis of The Mothers {Genevieve Gannon}:

Grace and Dan Arden are in their forties and have been on the IVF treadmill since the day they got married. Six attempts have yielded no results, and with each failure a little piece of their hope dies.

Priya Laghari and her husband Nick Archer are being treated at the same fertility clinic, and while they don’t face the same time pressure as the Ardens, the younger couple have their own problems.

On the same day that Priya is booked for her next IVF cycle, Grace goes in for her final, last-chance embryo transfer. Two weeks later, both women get their results.

A year on, angry and heartbroken, one of the women learns her embryo was implanted in the other’s uterus and must make a devastating choice: live a childless life knowing her son is being raised by strangers or seek custody of a baby who has been nurtured and loved by another couple.

Library Love

Last week, I received the most lovely piece of mail from my favorite local library (the same library where I was a total celebrity Library Hero):

How sweet is that?! Thank you so much, Indian Trails!

Speaking of Indian Trails, they have officially rolled out their Summer Library Adventure! Click HERE to learn more about this wonderful summer reading opportunity and to access registration information.

I actually stopped by Indian Trails today…

…and picked up these 3 books (2 for me and 1 for my daughter. She’s been on pins and needles waiting on the newest Baby-sitters Club book to be released)!

Thanks for letting me share a bit of my personal life with you today! I’ll be back later this week with a review of an AMAZING, MUST READ book!

What have you been up to recently? What are you currently reading?

Jenny
